A Future without Rubbish and Asociaţia Un Viitor fără Gunoi are proud to announce new projects in Romania in partnership with RUD and Aquacarpatica
Two years ago, on the 12th of December, Clear Public Space was established in the UK, with Asociaţia Un Viitor fără Gunoi afterwards. Together, they run the project Un Viitor fără Gunoi.
Also on the 12th December 2017, correctly coloured bins were delivered in all classrooms of UNESCO-listed Valea Viilor - Martan Negrea school - as part of the project ‘Un Viitor fără Gunoi-A Future without Rubbish’ which improves recycling rates and clear public spaces of litter.
"We are very proud to be a part of this project, especially that children in schools are actively involved in the process of recycling...it's time that parents learn from their children." - Geanina Ghintu, RUD
“These bins will make it easier for the pupils to selectively throw waste every day. It is a plus to the environment, as the waste sorted by them will be recycled.” said waste collector, S.C. ECO-SAL S.A. MEDIAS, which operates throughout the area and in UNESCO-listed Biertan.
The Mayor of Valea Viilor said” Un Viitor fără Gunoi should be a model for surrounding communes, Romania needs this project!”. He was grateful for the project and wants to develop these bins for town hall use, next year. To follow the lead given by the school.
"At Asociaţia Un Viitor fără Gunoi we believe behavioural change starts at the school level – and now schools from Cisnadie, Sibiu, Biertan and Prejmer have started (or are starting) the project…. this means that -in one generation- we might have a ‘o națiune fără gunoaie!" - Adriana Horstman, organiser and consultant in the Sibiu area
In Cisnadie, this week, pupils will be making valuable piggy banks out of used Aqua Carpatica bottles. Aqua Carpatica are proud sponsors of the project.
This week the project Un Viitor fără Gunoi was encouraging recycling in Valea Viilor on Tuesday, and reusing in Cisnadie, on Wednesday
On Thursday - what will they be doing in Prejmer?
